We've also added FOS (fructooligosaccharides) across our Adult core range to support gut microbiome health. And for recipes where the kibble size has changed, we've introduced an active ingredient that binds calcium in saliva to help reduce tartar formation. Oodles range update

We've consolidated the Large Breed and Medium Breed Oodles bags into one diet option, ADVANCE™ Oodles Medium & Large Breed Food. Alongside existing benefits like skin barrier nutrients, heart health nutrients, prebiotic fibre, glucosamine and chondroitin, new benefits have been added, including a tartar reduction formula and skin & coat care.

Have the ADVANCE™ dry dog recipes changed?

Yes, some of the recipes have changed to improve palatability, enjoyment and reflect the best available science. The core nutrition profile, quality of ingredients, and the standards you've trusted for 25+ years remain. If you'd like to understand exactly what has changed in your pet's specific product, the updated ingredient and nutritional information is clearly displayed on the new packaging.

The way the key protein appears on the ingredient list looks different. Why? What does the ‘&/or mean’?

Key proteins used in ADVANCE™ Pet Food are sourced from the highest quality suppliers in Australia. No new meat meals have been added to the new and improved ADVANCE™ dry dog food recipes. However, how meat is being shown on label has changed and this partly reflects the AS5812:2023 as well as ADVANCE™ Pet Food’s commitment to ingredient transparency. All members of the PFIAA (including all major pet food manufacturers) will need to transition over to similar labelling by 2026, making ADVANCE™ one of the first brands to adopt the new labelling style with increased transparency.

Do I need to change how much I feed my dog?

No. The feeding guide remains the same and there is no impact to the number of feeds per bag. You can continue to feed your dog exactly as you always have.

Should I gradually transition my dog to the new ADVANCE™ dry formula?

Yes. Due to the degree of recipe change and as good practice, always make a gradual feeding transition from the old to the new recipe over a period of 7-10 days. You can do this by mixing the new food with their old food, and gradually increasing the amount of the new food each day as per the back of pack of the product.

Is there any change to the shelf life of ADVANCE™ dry dog food?

There is no change to shelf life.

Why did the kibble size change?

We refined the kibble size in response to feedback from pet parents and feeding studies, to make chewing easier and more satisfying for your dog with a size that better suits their natural mouthfeel for the dog size.

Does the new kibble still support my dog's dental health?

Yes. The kibble is formulated with our scientifically proven active ingredient that binds calcium in saliva to help reduce tartar formation, so your dog continues to receive the proven oral care health benefits you trust.
